He served in the army from 1979 through 1984. He trained with the Green Berets and served in the 82nd Airborne Division and was stationed in Fayetteville, NC until 1983 when he was transferred to serve in the White House Communications Administration. He lived in Seward, NE for many years. He received his bachelor of science degree from Concordia University in Seward and later attended the University of Nebraska. He was employed as a hydrologist for the state of Nebraska. He moved to North Carolina in 2000 and was employed by the state as a hydrologist. He also worked refurbishing tools and doing lathe work. He went into the army the summer after we graduated from High school and was really excited about being part of the Green Berets. The Green Berets is an elite special group of the army. He met his wife Karen while in Fayetteville and was married in 1981. Memories of him were that he was a wild and crazy guy full of a love for life and his savior Christ the Lord. I don't think there was anything that he wouldn't do. He signed my yearbook as a "PCCD" (potential cool christian dude) I remember our senior year he got sent home from school for wearing a controversial T-shirt. It said " Jesus is coming............. and Boy! Is he pissed!!!!!. He enjoyed scuba diving, sky diving, working on and driving his cars and his old pick-up. He used to give the South Sioux City cops a work out trying to catch up to him as he raced around South Sioux. He was a great friend and lots of fun. I'm sure there are a lot of people in our class that have more memories of good times shared
